Photoshop is not a vector program, it is
raster. Yes it does have the pen tool
and the ability to use bezier curves, but that is not what defines a vector
based program. I personally use Adobe Illustrator to vector (love CS2) and I've
seen some very very nice results from Corel Draw.
I usually think of ideas either in the shower, or like Ryugen, right before I'm
asleep. Those are the times where my mind goes a mile a minute summarizing the
days events and can be in a million places at once. It happens so often that I
always keep paper and a pen on my nightstand so no ideas can get away.
Credits are a simple concept. You have to GIVE in order to RECEIVE.
All I can suggest to those lost is explore. Everyone is in the same boat here.
Just read and explore and you'll get used to it. Stop complaining people and
just TRY it.
Credits are a good idea, but I download wallpapers/scans before commenting on
them to see the details. I like to see things for what they truely are before
judging them. Though credits aren't friendly to that perepective.
I've tried to update a wall and get the same error. It's been like this for a
couple of weeks now. I guess it just hasn't been fixed yet like signatures.
It depends how much I have to do. If I have nothing going, such as today, I just
surf for rips, dups, and possible images to wall. ;P In the past two days I've
submitted over 23 reports.
I started on graphics back in 4th or 5th grade with my crude html pages of anime
pictures and my porcelain animal collection. I just finished up my resume and
portfolio, viewable here, if
anyone feels so inclined as to take a peek.
I just graduated in May with a BA in graphic design and I couldn't be happier.
My internship really opened my eyes as to what can be expected in the graphics
community. As of this moment I don't yet have a job, but a sign company (ie:
designing large signs such as grand openings and billboards) is "highly
interested."
If you are truely interested in the graphic arts, I'd say take on an internship
and figure out which part of the field you want to concentrate on, be it
webpages, 3D animation, marketing/advertising (logos/business cards/letterhead),
or general layout/design (such as in book layout).
Also work areas can also change from working for a company to doing freelance or
even owning your own graphics business. Someday I hope to have a job designing
movie posters and their corresponding webpage. Someday...
Finding a lack of Photoshop wing tutorials, I decided to create my own. I am
currently still experimenting so new tutorials may be added in the near
future.
Tutorials include anime style wings, fairy wings, and how to make cloud brushes
for Photoshop. These are my first attempts at writing tutorials so please be
kind in your replies. Click here to go to my tutorials or
click on the image below. I'd love to see everyones results.
I took some generic art class in high school and in May just got my Bachelor of
Arts (4 years) in Graphic Design. Other than that I've been teaching myself HTML
(and now XML) for about 8-10 years now...
Such a great show. ^_^ I have many wavs and images from it on my computer. Gir
is most definitely my favorite, with Minimoose a close second. I've even started
vectoring my favorite scenes.
Quote by SilentMasamuneDo you find
it a good idea to move out from your parents home during the college years,
especially if your beliefs change and you think you could make something more of
yourself somewhere else?
As most people have said already, moving out provides you with a great feel of
independence. I lived on campus my four years of college since it was out of
state, and I don't regret it. And after living with your parents for 18 years
you kinda want your own space. You
also become familiar with a wide varitey of people and beliefs, have fun and
meet new people.
I started off fresh at college since I knew absoletely no one there - and home was a good two hours away. It was a good
opportunity to think about myself and what I want. I also met my current
boyfriend while at college (October will be 3 years for us). True, I've had my
share with a bad roommate but life is full of trials and errors.
And as jakulito mentioned, you will have to move out of your parents house
eventually. College is a good transition as you can still visit home and do
laundry for free there. :P I'd rather not end up like my cousin, who just turned
30, no boyfriend, and is living in her parents basement.
If you have Photoshop, you can try out my tutorial. Try using the tree image at
the bottom instead of the cloud. Let me know if you can follow it ok... I just
uploaded it today and you'll be the first to try it out. ^-^ http://www.lunaregina.com/tutorials/
If you're using a PC, the .abr needs to be put into the PS brush folder. The
path will look something like this, depending on what version of PS you have:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS\Presets\Brushes
I usually find that if I need brushes and they can't be found by searching, then
I make them myself. I like to make my brushes large so they can be used
anywhere, and it's also nice that it's not the same tree brush everyone else
overuses constantly. Gives the eye a pleasant change.
True, Teen Titans isn't anime, but still, I just can't seem to get enough of it.
'The End' is by far my favorite season ending. I even vectored a picture of
Raven in her white robes. ^_^
I do I do! I haven't seen the movie, but have seen the musical performed in
Boston at the Opera House. It was great because they had real pyrotechnics, the
chandelier hovered over the audience, and the Phantom actually disappeared (you
know which part I mean). My favorite soundtrack was Andrew Lloyd Webber's
original broadway cast. The songs are just so haunting... And Music of the
Night.... Simply perfect.
ender75392: Yes I heard about the movie. It actually started production *counts*
7 years ago, so I don't know if they are still working on it or if they gave up.
I read the beginning of the script when it first started, since they had it on
the website. And they cut out the fight with Stilson!! After that, I didn't have
much hope for the movie, though Card himself was a member of the movie team, so
that's a good sign. The book will always be better in my mind though. ^_^
Well it's only my favorite book series. ^_~ I've read them all except Shadow of
the Giant. My fav are the original four though. I actually just picked up EG
again to read for fun. By the way.... did you notice the mistakes in the book?
OK I think I have everything all set. Here is a trimmed down version of my brush
set. Bamboo brushes were made from internet images and the last 2 1/2 row are
silhouettes of my house plant.... I think it is a sort of mini palm tree.
Brushes were made in Photoshop CS. File size zipped is 10.9m. Click the
thumbnail to download. I hope everything works ok.
There's one at AnimePaper - nice pose too.

The first image is by Chisato Naruse. In the night by Nishiki1 Not sure about the second one though.

I have some available on my website in png form. Take a look if you'd like:

Found MT thanks to Google by searching for large Fullmetal Alchemist images to use on wallpapers.

I actually made some awhile ago... If you're interested in them, send me a pm and I'll create a preview for you. Fyi, I made them in Photoshop CS.

Here's the moon I usually use in my wallpapers:

The tutorial is easy to follow and the end result has nice texture. The best part is it is created from scratch, no images necessary. Hope this helps.
